For the 44th edition of the Pustertal Ski Marathonthe track will be reversed-
The Pustertal Ski Marathon "Classic" will be held over a distance of 62 km from Sesto to Villabassa. The starting signal is given Sesto/Waldheim. After that the track continues in direction to San Candido and Dobbiaco, it passes through the cross-country stadium Nordic Arena further into the "Höhlensteintal" until the View of the three Peaks and Val Fonda where the track turns.
Backwards the course passes again the Nordic Arena. The track continues to Villabassa where, after 62 km, the finish line is on the main square, exactly there, where the finish line of the famous mountain bike race "Dolomiti Super bike" is.

The news and absolute highlight of the 2020 edition is the second course over 42 km, approx. 1,000 metres altitude difference and the finish on 2,031 metres above sea level. Only the first 200 athletes who sign up for this race ski up to Prato Piazza, where they can admire the magnificent scenery of the Dolomites after a 7 km ascent with an average gradient of 10%.
The 42 km race will start in Sesto to and will be the same as the 62 km track until Val Fonda. From there it goes straight on to the right where the ascent to Prato Piazza begins. (Dolomiti Superbike route)

If it is not possible to ski on Prato Piazza due to a lack of snow, a change from cross-country skis to  running shoes will be made at the "View of the three peaks" and so you will be able to run on the most famous and beautiful high plateau of the Three peaks region. The aim is to guarantee the race to the athletes and to offer them a unique experience.
