Rules:

The 3 Zinnen Ski-Marathon takes place over two race days and comprises three events: the 60 km or 30 km Classic Technique race on Saturday and the 30 km Prato Piazza Mountain Challenge in Free Technique on Sunday.

By registering for the 3 Zinnen Ski-Marathon, each participant confirms that they have read, understood and accepted these regulations as well as the applicable provisions on the protection of personal data (Privacy).

For all matters not expressly covered by these regulations, the applicable technical regulations of FIS and FISI for mass-participation cross-country skiing events shall apply. The Organising Committee reserves the right to amend the regulations and the course for organisational, safety-related or weather-related reasons up to one hour before the start of the respective race.

All participants who turn at least 18 years of age in the year of the event are eligible to participate.

For the 30 km Classic Technique race, participants who turn at least 16 years of age in the year of the event are also eligible. Minors must present a participation authorisation signed by their parents.

This regulation applies exclusively to Italian citizens in all categories.

For registration, one of the following documents is required:

  • “Sports Medical Certificate” pursuant to Ministerial Decree of 18 February 1982, valid on the day of the event and issued for the discipline of cross-country skiing or Nordic skiing;
  • Medical certificate of fitness for sports activities pursuant to Ministerial Decree of 24 April 2013, Art. 4 (Annex D – activities involving particularly high cardiovascular strain), valid on the day of the event and issued by a sports medicine specialist or a general practitioner.

The certificate must be uploaded online to the participant’s Datasport account during registration or at a later date. Alternatively, it may be sent by e-mail to info@ski-marathon.com no later than the Thursday before the race weekend.

Athletes who have not submitted a certificate or who have submitted an invalid certificate will not be allowed to collect their race number and may not participate in the race.

IMPORTANT! The “FISI Card” does not replace the required medical certificate of fitness.

Registration takes place online via our partner Datasport. Registrations by e-mail or telephone are not accepted. During online registration, the entry fee is paid directly via Datasport. The button for online registration can be found on our homepage at www.ski-marathon.com/en/registration/

During the race weekend, registration is also possible on site from Friday to Sunday at the Race Office (cash payment).

The entry fee includes shuttle service, race number, medical support, professional timing, race pack, transport of personal bags, refreshments along the course and at the finish, and the finisher medal.

The 3 Zinnen Ski-Marathon is listed in the FIS calendar of mass-participation cross-country races. Athletes with a valid FIS code may therefore receive FIS points. The valid FIS code must be provided during registration.

During registration, each athlete selects the starting group that best matches their sporting performance level (except for the ELITE group).

ELITE Group

  • Athletes belonging to an Italian military sports group
  • Athletes belonging to a Ski Classics Pro Team
  • Athletes belonging to an Italian or foreign national team (cross-country skiing, biathlon, roller skiing)
  • Athletes with fewer than 50 FIS or FISI points
  • Athletes selected by the Organising Committee based on results from other races or according to additional criteria

1st Group – Experienced Racers
Guideline for self-assessment: 50–150 points in the FISI ranking

2nd Group – Advanced Cross-Country Skiers

3rd Group – All Other Cross-Country Skiers

Please note! Assignment to the ELITE group is carried out exclusively by the Organising Committee on the basis of the criteria listed above.

IMPORTANT! In the event of non-participation in the race or failure to collect the race number, the entry fee will not be refunded, including in cases of force majeure. When registering online via Datasport, participants have the option of taking out cancellation insurance.

All information on the insurance and any reimbursement can be found here: https://datasport.com/en/erv

In the event of adverse weather conditions or other safety concerns, the Organising Committee reserves the right to modify the course, establish an alternative course or cancel the event.

The applicable regulations of FIS (International Competition Rules – ICR) and FISI (Agenda degli Sport Invernali) apply, in particular the provisions governing mass-participation cross-country races (“Popular Races”).

By registering, all participants accept the applicable regulations.

During the event, the competent authorities may carry out anti-doping controls. The applicable FIS Anti-Doping Rules and relevant national regulations apply.

Participants who do not reach the designated checkpoints within the specified maximum time will be removed from the results and must stop the race. The following time limits apply:
